Animals are a big part of our lives, but I bet you didn’t know that over 42,000 species are currently at risk of extinction! This means we could lose some of our favorite animals forever if we don't do anything about this. From giant pandas to sea turtles and even the adorable red pandas, thousands of animals are trying their best to survive right now. This is because we have been careless and put our convenience in our everyday lives above the planet’s needs. Things like deforestation, pollution, climate change and illegal hunting are destroying their habitats.
Why it matters?
Animals are so important and are a huge part of our lives, without them the world would be so different. Saving endangered animals isn’t just about keeping one we like or don’t. It’s just about protecting our planet and make sure everyone gets to see how amazing they are. Every animal plays a role in the ecosystem, keeping it balanced. They’re also a huge part of the food chain, if one animal disappears it can affect many more. It matters because once a species is gone, we can never bring it back.

Some animals:
Orangutans: The expansion of palm oil plantations are the main reasons that they are endangered. The deforestation not only destroys their homes but also causes their population to decrease.
Blue whales: They are endangered mostly because of us. This includes hunting and ocean pollution.
Sea turtles: Usually harmed by plastic waste and fishing nets in the oceans.
Red Pandas: Habitat loss and deforestation affects them the most.
Giant Pandas: Spreading the word has helped but they are still vulnerable due to the loss of their habitats.
