The presidential election has just finished, and it was kind of like a competitive spectacle in a way. People- friends and family- split into two sides, Kamala or Trump (Democratic or Republican), and argued over who would be the better president. Over time though, some switched sides, and backstabbed others, betrayed their friends, their families - and then, at almost exactly 3:00pm on the 5th of November, the results were clear - Trump won by a landslide. Kamala was accused of being a ‘sore loser’ (because she didn’t appear at the White House after congratulating Trump), and her supporters were brought to their knees. This election was intense, and inspired me to write an article about why Kamala failed.
First of all, Kamla suffered a lot of fundraising challenges. Despite being a long time candidate and having a really good profile and experience, she struggled to raise enough money and gain enough supporters for a long lasting campaign. Even though she debated effectively, and talked about what she wanted for the country- supporting the lower class- she struggled with her momentum. She was widely considered a viable and competitive candidate, but she just lacked the persuasive skills that Trump had.
Second of all, she faced a lot of campaign management and staff issues. Despite having a campaign to her name, she had many issues with her staff, with many to be departing early. She raised a lot of money - over 1bn, but this was badly spent and essentially wasted. Trump on the other hand - spent his money more wisely and, as a result, had a more successful campaign and obviously ran out winner.
Finally, I think Kamala was a knowledgeable and good candidate, but she just didn’t have the charm and persuasive skills that Trump had. This election was a fair one, and touched the hearts of many people - American or not.
