(G)I-DLE

(G)I-DLE is a five member K-POP group, with three vocalists: Mi-yeon, Minnie and Shu Hua. a rapper: So-ye on, and a dancer: YUQI. They also had a past member - Seo Soo-Jin, who was a rapper alongside So-yeon. (G)I-DLE is a South Korean girl group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2018; they debuted on May 2nd 2018 with their single LATATA.

Now, I’m not here to tell you about the amazing group as it is now, but rather about the past member: Seo Soojin.

Seo Soojin is a previous member of (G)I-DLE who made her solo debut with her song AGASSY. She released the song on November 8th, 2023, under the company BRD Communications. She was born in Gyeonggi, South Korea, and attended Waw Middle School in Hwaseong. She later learned jazz and taekwondo while attending the Korean Arts High School. It was only after that that she decided to pursue a singing career, but even then she needed her father’s approval.

So, you may be wondering, why did Soojin leave (G)I-DLE? This is one of the most puzzling questions in K-POP history - no one can uncover the reasons why. Cube Entertainment said that it was because of her mental health and she wanted to take a break - but even Soojin didn’t tell anyone. (G)I-DLE members have protested against her leaving, particularly Soyeon. She stated that she wanted Soojin to stay, but this bubbling tension only extended further, as she made an appearance in a drawing in one of Soojin’s music videos. (G)I-DLE releases lots of inspiring songs, and they are one of the only groups who have released four consecutive popular songs. These popular tracks were all about very important things, like being yourself, avoiding social media problems, having a free will and just generally being amazing.
