If you know me well, you know that I am obsessed with Formula 1. Ever since I discovered it in 2022, I have been checking the F1 App every week for some fresh updates on the sport. But I am not talking about that today. The 15th Singapore Grand Prix just finished last Sunday, and I bought a ticket and watched the race live. Having seen the event firsthand, I want to write a review of the race. And here I present: The Unofficial Review of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.
Ok first off, let's talk about the positives (maybe not positives for some of you, since we all support different teams). Lando Norris got provisional pole, and he made a fantastic race start, with Max Verstappen dropping one place and Lando Norris picking up speed. He then went on to lead second place by 20 seconds, which, if you ask me, is really impressive. Later on in the race, George Russell ended up climbing 2 places along with his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, who finished the race 7th. McLaren also ended up with both drivers on the podium; if you ask me, it was a really good fight.
Aside from all the good stuff that happened, there were also some terrible moments in the race. Aside from the above, there wasn’t much action, with only a few overtaking attempts throughout. The only interesting thing outside of those tussles that happened was Alex Albon of Williams retiring because of a gearbox problem. Furthermore, I was sitting in my grandstand seat for almost 30 minutes waiting for a safety car to appear (that would have made the race so much more interesting, FIA, so take that into account!) and no safety car arrived. The commentators said this was the longest race without a safety car, but seriously, what’s so good about that? I could really use some extra action and energy.
Overall, I would rate the race a 7/10. My favourite team won and there were some mediocre moments, but overall the race stayed really consistent and calm, and without a safety car! FIA, please take that into account and make the races more interesting!
