School 'Corrupted' Devices

Well, at this point, a lot of us will know about the school managed devices – and let’s be honest, most of us aren’t happy about them.

In fact, 91% percent of people said that they do not like the school managed devices as it limits how much can be done on them. For example, some school managed devices do not let you use google docs, which is an essential for schoolwork. The good things about this though is that it has increased our screen downtime.

The biggest impact so far, in my opinion, is that it has annoyed a lot of students.  For many of us, our devices have become corrupted (and by corrupted read school managed). They used to be their devices and they were free to use them to their full extent - however, now, in after-school free time (and time with friends in a different country) if they wanted to play games they are being cruelly denied. I know what you are thinking -  “how about going outside to play?” Well, on a weekday evening things aren’t so simple and it is impossible to just go over to their friend's house to play.

Some of the apps that have been banned for no reason are:

Google docs

Games (banned for a good reason in some cases)

Apple Music (some people need it to reduce stress)

Youtube (people need it to look at videos to recap on lessons)

Google slides

Passwords 

And many more…

Throughout all this though there are some innovative ideas. It minimises gaming and that can cause people to study more. This is good for education and a lot of other stuff like homework or studying. This happens because sometimes the devices can be a big distraction and can disrupt our learning. 

Secondly it can also give us websites that are education and are good for our learning. They can give us secure websites and block the insecure ones and that can drastically improve our learning. For example, they can let us use apps that can let you write quickly and efficiently, for example this one.

However, at this youthful age we should be given some responsibility with our devices because otherwise if we have someone to push us our whole life we will not be able to thrive in adulthood as we will need someone to give us a push to succeed while on the other hand if we are given responsibility then it is up to us if we will use it good or bad but even then it is better because we will be able to succeed on our own.
