THE CLOCK: PART 1
“Lily! Lily! Come down stairs.”
“Alright mum, I’m coming!” said Lily, as she got out of bed.
Already changed she rushed down the stairs. But something was different. The picture on the wall was no longer that of her Grandma, but instead a clock. Ignoring this she dashed to the table. She quickly ate, packed her bag and rushed to the school bus. Boarding the bus, she heard her name being called from the back seats. As usual it was her best friend, Tristan, who had saved her a seat.
“Hey Tristan!” Lily said.
“Hey Lily. Guess what I have?”
“What?” said lily in confusion.
“A clock. But not just any clock. It is an old clock from long ago.”
Lily instantly thought of the clock on her own wall, and considered for a moment that it might be related. But then she realised it was just a coincidence.
However, when she arrived at school, she saw once more a person holding a clock looking at her. She rubbed her eyes and the strange person was gone. By this point she was starting to feel very dizzy, so Tristan got her some water and they went to class.
“Alright everyone. Settle down. Today we will be learning about time zones in different countries,” said Miss Buckman.
Suddenly, something happened. I fainted. “Lily wake up...’’ said Tristan I woke up and realised I was at the school hospital.
“How Long was I out for?”
“Only for 30 minutes… what happened? Was it something I said? Was it something you saw?”
“No I...I it doesn't matter lets just go to class.”
After school, Tristan went to the library and Lily went home.
“Mum, I’m home.”
“Honey, I heard you fainted at school what happened?”
“Nothing….” Lily said hesitating.
“Ok, well just go to bed so you can rest.”
“Ok mum” said Lily slowly.
Eventually she fell asleep.
A voice in her dream called out.
“Lily wake up…’’
“Mum?”
“Clocks...Tick Tock….”
Lurching awake, Lily shouted, “Aghhhhhh!”
“Honey, are you alright?” asked her worried mum.
“ Yes I’m fine it must have just been a dream.”
“OMG! Its 8:00 i must have slept in!” said Lily in shock.
“Don’t worry honey, I called the school and let them know you won’t be going in.”
“Ok, I’m going back to bed ok.”
“Fine honey, have a good rest.”
“Wait, what’s that…?”
