Keeper of the lost cities by Shannon Messenger has been one of the best series I’ve ever read. It allows my imagination to go wild and lets me escape from reality. Keeper of the lost cities is about a girl called Sophie Foster and she has a secret. She’s a Telepath, someone who hears the thoughts of everyone around her. It’s a talent she’s never known how to explain. Everything changes the day she meets Fitz, a mysterious boy who appears out of nowhere and also reads minds to tell her who she actually is. She discovers there’s a place she does belong, and that staying with her family will place her in grave danger. In the blink of an eye, Sophie is forced to leave behind everything and start a new life in a place that is vastly different from anything she has ever known. Sophie has new rules to learn and new skills to master and not everyone is thrilled that she has come “home.” There are secrets buried deep in Sophie’s memory, secrets about who she really is and why she was hidden among humans and that's what some mysterious alliances desperately need and would even kill for. In this page-turning series, Shannon Messenger creates a story where one girl must figure out why she is the key to her brand new world, before the wrong person finds the answer first...
Currently I’ve been reading it from July to now coming October and I’m presently on the 6th book, Nightfall. The genre of the series is fantasy fiction and it's full of different adventures, mythical creatures, interesting personalities and touching characters! The reason why I love the series is because of all the battles Sophie Foster and her friends have to face against the Neverseen and all the twists and turns in the book.
Keeper of the lost cities consists of 8 amazing books.
Here are all the books in order :)
-Keeper of the lost cities
-Unlocked (book 8.5 is coming out in November...YAY)
My favourite character in Keeper of the lost cities is Keefe Sencen. Let me tell you a little about him. Keefe Sencen is a 16 year old elf with ice blue eyes and blond hair. He’s in Foxfire level 6, a black swan member and a double agent spying on the Neverseen. He also is a great artist, however his parents don’t appreciate his talents and he is considered a waste of time. I love his personality because he is extremely fun to be around and extremely funny! I love how he manages to stay the hilarious person he is, even though he has gone through so much.
Keefe has a range of different abilities:
-Empath (can feel people’s emotions)
-Photo graphic memory (can remember information/images by looking at something)
-Mimicry (can mimic other people’s voices)
I recommend this series to all people who love lots of fantasy and have time to escape from reality to read this remarkable series. So go ahead and borrow the first book from the library and enjoy!
