india-pakistan conflict: a guide for dummies
Across the globe, many headlines have flashed on our TV screens but one just seems to come back again and again - the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict. So, what is the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict that journalists have been going on about? Well, in simple terms it is an ongoing conflict between the two nations of India and Pakistan which started after the partition of Pakistan from British India back in 1947 along the state of Kashmir. It consists of many wars, conflicts and military stand-offs between the two nations including the Kargil War between May and July, 1999 and the Indo-Pakistani war of 1965. Though these dates have long passed by, the heated conflict between the two nations remains. As for solving the conflicts raised by recent surgical strikes, here are a couple of ways to stop the India-Pakistan conflict for the greater good of humanity:
Without carrying out these steps, nothing is going to get better for the people of Kashmir. Though the dispute will never leave the minds of those who have seen it, the effects of the dispute and any other disputes in the future can be negated and avoided.
- Carry out a conference in the UN on this topic. Doing this will showcase what all countries, not only India and Pakistan, think about the situation and how to solve it. The countries will be able to work together to solve this long term problem for good.
- Promote the termination of surgical strikes and military standoffs via social media. With 2.34 billion people on social media platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and Quora, promoting the need for ending these disputes between the two nations would not only greatly help people realise the bigger picture of this situation, it would also encourage the public to get involved and help solve the problem by getting more people involved in charity work etc.
- Gather fundraising through social media. After promoting the need for solving the dispute, gathering fundraising through these same sources would greatly help those affected by the dispute.
- Confiscate and halt the supply of ammunition and guns to both India and Pakistan sides of the Kashmir border. If this is implemented as one of the ways to end the dispute in the UN conference, neither party will be able to attack the other physically. This would make it fair for the people of Kashmir.
Without carrying out these steps, nothing is going to get better for the people of Kashmir. Though the dispute will never leave the minds of those who have seen it, the effects of the dispute and any other disputes in the future can be negated and avoided.
