The practice of body contortion has existed since our ancient beginnings. For millennia humans have been twisting and turning their bodies in every conceivable angle. But why? What is the attraction and what is it all about? Let’s first get our heads around what contortion actually is. Contortion is a skill that involves very flexible movements and pushing your body to its full remarkable limits. Being able to contort your body is a unique and amazing skill. It requires lots of hard work and years of dedicated practice. Often contortion is a form of entertainment performed to music in circus-style shows like Cirque Du Soleil. It has grown in popularity over the years and is now considered almost border-line mainstream. Though at first it might seem like a fascinating skill some people think it is a bit creepy and that the extent of the flexibility is a little on the freakish side (historically a lot of contortionists were part of travelling freak shows). Here is a picture of one of the world’s favourite contortionists. She is a 19 year old contortionist and her name is Sofie Dossi. She first came to fame in America's Got Talent, afterwards starting her own youtube channel.
