Avengers Infinity War is a film that was being hinted at ever since the first Avengers and after 6 years of hints and hype the film is finally out, and it's spectacular in almost every regard. One of the best things about this film is it's writing. The writing for this film is amazing. At certain times you will be laughing extremely hard but at other you will be weeping. The jokes never undercut the more serious moments if anything they make relax you before you get hit with even more emotion and cry. One thing in particular that I think is worth noting is the fact that because it's a huge shared universe there will be tons of references to other films and characters so if you haven't brushed up on some of the other films you will be a bit confused, however if you have a good understanding of the event in past movies this will delight you. Another thing done well is that even though some characters have a lot more screen time than others, every single character has a memorable/ meaningful moment in the film. Which is something that must have been extremely hard to do. One of the best aspects with this film is the villain played by Josh Brolin. In my personal opinion a good villain is a villain that makes you say “wait, he is actually kinda correct and I see where he is coming from”. Also Thor is hands down the MVP in this film. Chris Hemsworth does an excellent job at portraying Thor and the new and improved Thor from Thor Ragnarok is carried perfectly into Infinity War. The other standouts from the cast include Chris Pratt, Robert Downey Jr, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as the bone chilling Ebony Maw, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch and Zoe Saldana. However every single cast member gave a good performance. The film was paced very well especially if you consider how much is going on at once. This is an aspect the Last Jedi didn’t do very well. The cinematography was very good and was very different from the other marvel films. One thing that was done surprisingly well was the way they stop using music to really force raw emotion out of the film and the scene thus forcing the audience we feel a lot more emotional.
Unfortunately this film still has flaws as with every film. However the problem isn't so bad as it doesn't ruin the film. The problem I am talking about is the random shift in CGI quality throughout the film. For example there are a couple of shots where the CGI for Thanos is out of this world, however the in other shots other CGI characters look rubbery and the green screen looks noticeable.
I want to leave this review on a high note so I will end by saying this. The films ending is probably the best ending in a Marvel film ever, and you are not prepared for what is about to happen.
