GCSEs. The most dreaded tests of your life - well, that is until you get to A-Levels or IB, but that’s another story. I think most people will agree with the fact that giving the exams on the computer will give us a much greater amount of confidence that will help push us to a completely new level. Why is that?
Well, what do we do most of our school work on - devices with keyboards and pens. So what are we most comfortable with using - devices, of course. What is the point of juggling around typing on a computer and handwriting? The only result of this is that we neither specialise in typing fast enough or handwriting fast enough, and that presents us with a huge problem for our GCSEs. We should be allowed to take GCSEs digitally! Typing on a computer is so much faster.
Once we are done with the exams, the answer scripts are scanned and sent to examiners worldwide. Wouldn’t it just be easier to have digital answer scripts in the first place? Why waste so many hours and so much energy scanning every single answer script? Scanning scripts manually could also result in human error. Pages may get lost, for all we know. We don’t want that, do we? It would be so much more efficient if GCSEs were done digitally.
I think we should have a petition or a poll to sort out this issue once and for all. There should be no more discussion on this topic. The results of the poll will speak for themselves.
